The unique brevity and impact of micro-fiction, its close connection to life, alignment with the rhythm of contemporary society, ability to capture readers' aesthetic attention in a short time while leaving a lasting aesthetic impression, are all vividly reflected in this collection. As an emerging literary genre, micro-fiction truly emerged in the late 1970s. By the 1980s, it gained favor with newspaper supplements and quickly rose to prominence. By the late 1980s and early 1990s, especially with the Tangquanchi Writers' Meeting in 1990—the first theoretical symposium on micro-fiction—the concept of "micro-fiction writers" was explicitly proposed, marking the point at which micro-fiction writers were no longer just scattered individuals. It can be said that by the early 1990s, micro-fiction had emerged as an independent literary form in contemporary literature, and it was around that time that the idea of micro-fiction becoming one of the four major genres of fiction began to surface.
