At the same time, he has deepened his understanding of economics through his research on these issues, which is evident in his published papers. Both his master's and doctoral theses received full endorsement from review experts and dissertation committees, and some of the papers in this book originated from his master's and doctoral theses. He has led the completion of multiple National Natural Science Foundation and National Social Science Fund projects, and this book also collects representative papers published in research reports from these projects. Due to the special role of land in agricultural production and its limited area, land issues have always been fundamental to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. The core of land issues lies in property rights institutional arrangements, as these arrangements determine the efficiency and effectiveness of land allocation. Professor Haodong has seized the key issue of property rights institutions, using institutional economics as an analytical tool, to conduct an in-depth study of the historical evolution and restructuring of China's agricultural land property rights system since the founding of the People's Republic of China.
