What are the typical symptoms of pediatric epilepsy?

Patient's question:

What are the typical symptoms of pediatric epilepsy? What should children do after a seizure? What are the early symptoms of pediatric epilepsy? I want to see a doctor. Thank you.

Doctor's answer:

Generally, it is only when the face, hands, or legs are affected that it is called partial motor epilepsy. In complex partial seizures, patients may begin to feel a strange sensation rising from the stomach, leading to illusions or smells. They may see things around them distorted or change color. Early epilepsy patients in children may lose partial awareness and be in a state of confusion. They may stare blankly at others while ignoring them, such as entering a dream-like state without conscious repetition of chewing, licking, rubbing hands, unbuttoning clothes, or nearby objects. They may act aggressively or express fear, smiling, anger, even laughing and crying.
