The book is divided into three parts: "General Theory," "Industry," and "Region." If the "General Theory" part is the theoretical section of mesoeconomics, then the "Industry" and "Region" parts are its applied sections. The "General Theory" part primarily argues the many novel and fundamental theoretical categories of mesoeconomics, such as phenomena, characteristics, entities, time and space, structure, location, growth, clustering, and effects. Most of these insights are presented to readers for the first time, and many of the views are "unshackled by long-standing habits" and "unafraid of the influence of conventional forces." The "Industry" part mainly elaborates on practical and hot applied economic issues such as the structural optimization of mesoeconomic industries, the clustering of mesoeconomic industrial organizations, the imbalance in mesoeconomic industrial linkages, technological progress in mesoeconomic industrial layouts, and corporate behavior in mesoeconomic industries. Some of these views differ from those of mainstream economic schools and many of the views are "not swayed by current trends" and "not blindly follow the crowd," not misled by seemingly plausible but actually unfounded trendy arguments. The "Region" part primarily interprets perplexing and challenging applied economic issues such as effective growth in mesoeconomic regions, the convergence and divergence of regional development, the comparative advantage trap in mesoeconomic regions, anti-poverty efforts in mesoeconomic regions, and anti-gradient development in mesoeconomic regions.
