The so-called "basket weaving art" refers to using strip-like materials (including bamboo strips, packing straps, plastic vines, colored bands, and pearl straps, etc.) as a base, creating multiple three-dimensional surfaces through continuous interlacing of warp and weft threads, and combining geometric patterns and decorative edge finishes to design products that are both practical and artistically valuable. The main purpose of this book’s publication is to encourage more people to join the tradition of basket weaving, refining and elevating traditional basket weaving art by applying modern, widely available materials to give it new life, creating personalized, beloved finished products. At the very least, ensuring that the basic techniques of basket weaving are not lost is a small contribution this book makes to preserving Chinese folk crafts!
