Features: With the development of economic globalization, the flow of goods and services worldwide has become increasingly frequent, covering broader scopes and higher efficiency, exerting more significant impacts on the economies of various countries. However, the competition between the forces promoting and hindering the flow of goods and services has intensified, leading to fiercer international competition. International Trade is the economic science system that studies these phenomena. This textbook has received positive feedback from students over a five-year period, who consistently praised its conciseness, clarity, and logical structure, while also offering valuable suggestions. To incorporate new theories and policies in international trade and adapt to the evolving international economic landscape, we have revised the textbook based on its original foundation. The main revisions include:
- Strengthening the explanation of international division of labor;
- Adding a chapter on contemporary international trade theories;
- Supplementing the general equilibrium model of tariffs and their price effects in the chapter on tariff barriers;
- Including content on social responsibility barriers in the chapter on non-tariff barriers;
- Enhancing the discussions on international trade in services and multinational corporations;
- Reducing the coverage of electronic commerce;
- Adding additional exercises.
