This annual adopts a classified and entry-based compilation method, with special features, special articles, overviews, and brief descriptions as the framework, major events as the vertical axis, and columns such as Party construction and ideological and political work, education and teaching, scientific research, departmental profiles, international cooperation and exchange, teaching support institutions, democratic parties and mass organizations as the horizontal axis, providing a comprehensive record of the development of all aspects of the university's work in 2002.
4. Generally, each section and sub-section of this annual has an introductory entry titled "Brief Overview" or "General Profile," summarizing the overall situation of the relevant field. Sub-sections are identified in bold type. Entries under sub-sections are marked with brackets "[ ]." Entries are the basic form of writing and important units of information recording.
5. The statistical data included in this annual are provided and reviewed by the School Management Information Center and relevant departments. The cut-off date for data statistics is referenced in the notes below the statistical tables. In principle, data statistics for the academic year are based on September 1, 2002, and are noted in the notes; data statistics for the calendar year are based on December 31, 2002, and the notes are omitted. Special statistical data are generally appended at the end of the relevant columns on the school's work in each field.
