Counting the "lines" (not "holes") of the backing. If you accidentally count them as holes, the size of your backing pieces will be incorrect. Before cutting the backing pieces, pay attention to the grid lines on each illustration for positioning. The grid lines can tell you the number of grid lines in both the width and height directions of the backing piece. Divide a rectangle into the specific size according to the grid lines. Remember to count by "grid lines" rather than "holes," and adjust the rectangle to the desired shape according to the illustration.
