Patient's question:
A good friend of mine has this disease, and I'd like to learn more about it. Could you help me analyze it for me? Thank you!Doctor's answer:
Analysis of the Condition:1. This condition often occurs after heavy physical labor, such as lifting heavy objects, or can also appear after intense sexual arousal. Damage caused by urethral instrumentation can lead to epididymitis, and it may also develop as a complication after a prostatectomy.
2. Acute epididymitis is often secondary to prostatitis. Pain in the scrotum typically occurs suddenly and can radiate along the spermatic cord to the groin and lumbar-sacral region. The pain is usually severe, with pronounced tenderness and resistance to palpation. Swelling progresses rapidly, and the epididymis may double in size within 3–4 hours. The body temperature can reach around 40°C, and there may be discharge in the urethra. At this stage, it may be accompanied by cystitis, with cloudy urine.
Recommendations:
The main symptoms are scrotal pain, swelling of the epididymis, increased pain when standing, and examination.
