How to treat chronic prostatitis?

Patient's question:

My partner is 33 years old this year and works as a driver. He has been driving for over 7 years. His sexual function is normal, but he often experiences frequent urination and incomplete urination for about three and a half months. Sometimes he needs to urinate every minute (especially before and after bathing and sexual activity). He once mentioned that he had intermittent pain in his testicles. Please ask the doctor, is this chronic prostatitis?
How should it be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Prostatitis primarily manifests with symptoms such as frequent urination, urinary urgency, dysuria, perineal pain, discomfort in the lower abdomen, perineum, and testicular area. There is often a white discharge from the urethra, accompanied by lower back and knee weakness, impotence, premature ejaculation, and even hematuria or hematospermia. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it falls under the categories of "heat-dampness obstruction," "lao-lin," and "jing-zhuo." It is classified into conditions such as:
- Heat-dampness obstruction
- Yin deficiency with fire flaring
- Insufficient kidney yang
- Blood and qi stagnation
Self-treatment plan:
1. Massage along both sides of the urethra for 15-20 minutes daily, adjusting the intensity to your comfort level.
2. Perform anal contraction exercises while standing, 50-100 times each morning and evening, until you feel aching warmth in the anus.
3. In summer, apply a cold compress with a damp towel to the testicles, 2-3 times per night, until the testicles contract fully.
4. Completely relax your mental stress.
5. Engage in morning exercises daily, such as jogging for 10-15 minutes, until you sweat slightly.
6. Clasp your hands at the waist each morning to stimulate kidney blood circulation, ideally 100-1500 times.
