What constitutes phimosis entrapment

Patient's question:

I have excessive foreskin but the foreskin opening is large and easy to retract. When I'm not erect, I retract the foreskin to expose the glans, but there is foreskin accumulation at the corona. Is this phimosis? Does the foreskin accumulation at the corona cause the same harm as phimosis?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, the occurrence of phimosis indicates that the child has either phimosis or excessive prepuce. For those with phimosis or excessive prepuce with a narrow preputial orifice, if the prepuce is forcibly retracted and not repositioned in time, the narrow preputial orifice can tighten around the corona of the penis, obstructing the blood of the distal prepuce and glans, leading to swelling in these areas. This condition is known as phimosis entrapment.
