Symptoms after circumcision

Patient's question:

Hello!
I had a circumcision surgery on December 2nd. After the surgery, I was not given any medication. By December 7th, I noticed my glans had turned red and purple, so I went to the hospital, where they prescribed an anti-inflammatory drug called "Vipu." On December 19th, they also prescribed "Hengsen Gatifloxacin Tablets" from Jiangsu Haosen Pharmaceutical (Batch No. H200300017). I took it for three days as the doctor instructed, but my symptoms did not improve! It has been 22 days now, and my condition is still swollen, yet the doctor said it's nothing and stopped my medication. I am very worried, so I came to consult. Thank you!

Doctor's answer:

Edema after circumcision surgery is normal, and the local discoloration is also caused by surgical stimulation. Generally, it is not necessary to bandage anymore after about six to seven days. You can use povidone-iodine for wiping and disinfection to keep the area clean and dry.
