Is the world flat?

Features: Friedman's problem is not a lack of details, but rather that he has too little to say. He repeats himself over and over: the world is becoming smaller, some processes seem cold and, many things are changing, we should not be afraid. – The Economist
Friedman's small epic in The World Is Flat, written in praise of the glorious globalization, has three flaws: the writing style is verbose, the author is excessively self-absorbed, and the content is too superficial. The entire book is filled with endless metaphors of a flat Earth, a useless image that drives readers crazy. – The Guardian
Thomas Friedman's book is a dangerous book. It views the major issues of our time—globalization—from an extremely narrow and superficial perspective. Yet, the book has been a bestseller for two years and has considerable influence. The concept of globalization has accompanied us for centuries, manifesting in various forms, but the globalization Friedman portrays in the 21st century is merely "corporate globalization." This book points out what is missing in Friedman's beloved "corporate globalization," and it is precisely these factors excluded by Friedman's book that make it dangerous. Some things need to be rethought. We hope this book goes beyond Friedman's superficial globalization and guides readers who have been by Friedman's book to rethink the issue of globalization.
