Features: On June 24, 2006, the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education invited experts from the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education, the Education Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, and other fields of computer science, as well as representatives of computer teachers from some universities. Led by academicians Li Wei and Li Guojie, an expert group was formed to review the documents "On Strengthening the Computer Basic Education in Higher Learning Institutions" and the "Basic Requirements for Computer Basic Course Teaching," which were commissioned by the Higher Education Department and organized by the Education Guidance Committee. The review group concluded that the "basic requirements" had a "drafting approach and content that align with the guidance and objectives of the Higher Education Department," and the 11 recommendations proposed in the white paper "hold significant guiding importance for the computer basic education in higher learning institutions in the new era." They affirmed the relevance and innovation of these documents for computer basic education, emphasizing their importance in standardizing and advancing computer education in universities. The group recommended that these documents be quickly promoted and implemented for trial use. With the continuous deepening of university teaching reforms, computer technology continues to develop at its unique high speed, and many laws of computer basic education have not been fully recognized by us. Therefore, we must firmly establish the scientific development concept, continue to explore the laws of teaching in depth, and further advance the reform of computer basic education in universities in a more profound and solid manner.
