Patient's question:
Checked and confirmed it is left varicocele. You have scheduled the surgery for June 28th, but it hasn't been assigned to you yet.Doctor's answer:
Varicocele is a pathological condition characterized by abnormal elongation, dilation, and tortuosity of the pampiniform venous plexus within the spermatic cord, resulting from venous reflux or impaired venous return. It is more common in young and middle-aged adults and typically occurs on the left side. The main symptoms include a sense of heaviness, fullness, or pain in the scrotum, which may radiate to the groin or lower abdomen. The pain worsens during standing or walking and improves with lying down and rest. Based on this pathogenesis, resting in a supine position or using a scrotal support are relatively effective conservative treatments. If the symptoms are severe, surgical intervention may be considered.
