Features: The title "Annals of Social Critical Theory" reflects a commitment to authentically documenting and reconstructing history, including forgotten, obscured, distorted, and missing aspects in the historical development of classic Marxist theoretical thought. This journal upholds the rigorous and solid academic tradition of Chinese Marxist studies, delving into original texts to clarify the essence of Marxism, restoring its original image in historical research, and deepening the understanding of its contemporary significance through historical reflection. In line with the recent major research project on contemporary capitalism undertaken by our center, we have invited experts and scholars from relevant fields to open special columns, participate actively, and focus on thematic reviews and responses to representative achievements in the study of capitalism and socialism within various and movements, such as Western Marxism, left-wing radical social theory, cultural studies, feminism, post-colonialism, and socialist movements in the Third World. Our goal is to establish this journal as an important intellectual platform for social theory research in China.
The Annals of Social Critical Theory aims to use theory as a weapon and scholarship as its foundation, authentically documenting the social transformations of the 21st century China, and addressing major theoretical questions in contemporary Chinese society. It strives to contribute to the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, as envisioned by our predecessors, and to the construction of a harmonious society.
This journal primarily publishes papers and translations related to the historical development, current research status, and future trends of social critical theory both domestically and internationally. Specific topics include reviews of works such as "Kazuo Tominaga's Documentary Context" and "Bureaucratic Society Controlled by Consumption."
