Features: This study is a descriptive and analytical examination of the social and cultural aspects of a micro Tibetan community—the Nyingre Township in Lhasa City. The focus is not on explaining a particular economic and social development status, but rather on understanding the cultural logic embedded within it, based on an analysis of the social structure of Tibetan rural society. Through certain cultural markers (such as choices in healthcare behaviors, concepts and principles of cleanliness, and dietary culture), the study adopts a holistic perspective to interpret the cultural logic. Although the book covers various topics, the overarching theme is clear: it seeks to understand the cultural logic of Tibetan rural society through long-term field research. Additionally, it explores how Tibetan rural society responds, adapts, and reconfigures itself in the context of globalization, increasing interethnic interactions and cultural exchanges, and the Tibetan farmers' own desire for development and improved living standards. Amidst the nation's efforts to modernize Tibet, the study outlines the processes of cultural conflict, choice, and reconstruction, as well as how new external elements are organically integrated into Tibetan rural society, becoming an integral part of social life.
