Why do testicular cysts occur?

Patient's question:

I have been promiscuous and have not paid attention to hygiene in my private area. Recently, I noticed that one of my testicles was swollen and much larger than the other. It has gradually become bigger, like a ball. Why do I have a hydrocele?

Doctor's answer:

There is a lump or nodule on the testicle, which is not a spermatic cyst. It is called a testicular nodule. The testicular nodule can be caused by orchitis or epididymitis. Orchitis and epididymitis should be treated early and promptly to suppress inflammation, in order to reduce the recurrence of purulent orchitis and testicular abscesses. Special attention should be paid to orchitis caused by acute mumps, as bilateral inflammation can lead to irreversible damage to spermatogenesis or even testicular atrophy, resulting in male infertility. Therefore, active treatment is essential. The cost is not high, just anti-inflammatory medication. Avoid spicy foods at dinner, and quit smoking and drinking.
