What does phimosis look like?

Patient's question:

My glans often becomes red, swollen, and itchy, sometimes making it difficult for me to concentrate on studying. It usually persists for a while after bathing, but the itching returns within a few days. I asked the school doctor, and he said it's phimosis.
What kind of help do I need: What does phimosis look like?

Doctor's answer:

Penile phimosis refers to a condition where the foreskin covers the glans during both flaccid and erect states, and the foreskin cannot be retracted. Mild adhesion between the inner foreskin and the surface of the glans is softened, allowing the foreskin to retract and exposing the glans. If the adhesion is not softened, it constitutes congenital phimosis. Acquired phimosis is often secondary to inflammation of the glans and foreskin, leading to scarred stenosis of the foreskin opening. If phimosis is severe, it can cause difficulties in urination or even urinary retention.
