(1) Maintain local cleanliness, avoid various irritants, and clean the glans and foreskin daily.(2) Avoid unsafe sex and temporarily abstain from sexual activity during treatment. If the condition is caused by trichomoniasis or candidal balanitis, both partners should be treated simultaneously.
(3) Avoid using corticosteroid drugs during the acute phase to prevent worsening the infection. In cases of severe foreskin edema, do not forcibly retract the foreskin.
(4) Change the dressing promptly if there are ulcers or erosion on the inner foreskin or glans. Change the dressing twice daily.
(5) Eat less spicy and irritating foods, and avoid smoking and alcohol.
