Features: With the rapid economic growth of China, issues related to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers ("the three rural issues") have become increasingly prominent and have become a key factor influencing the success or failure of reform and opening-up and modernization efforts. Against this backdrop, transforming the mode of agricultural growth and pursuing industrialization has become an inevitable and practical choice. Agricultural industrialization organically integrates the production, processing, and marketing of agricultural products, addressing the contradiction between small-scale production and the large market, extending the industrial chain of traditional agriculture, and increasing added value. It has become an effective approach to increasing farmers' income, enhancing agricultural competitiveness, promoting the long-term development of agricultural economy and society, and building a new socialist countryside. This book takes Dongting Lake as a case study, examining the supporting theories of agricultural industrialization, as well as key issues such as influencing factors, the selection of leading industries and products, evaluation of development levels, and planning development strategies. It proposes the fundamental principles that should guide agricultural industrialization in China's lake regions, the main measures that need to be taken, and the important directions that must be grasped. The book establishes an indicator system for evaluating the development level of agricultural industrialization and a comprehensive evaluation model for agricultural industrialization based on a method set, as well as a classification model for industries in Dongting Lake. On this basis, it proposes development strategies, models, and approaches for agricultural industrialization in Dongting Lake.
