How can hand, foot, and mouth disease be better prevented?

Patient's question:

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is very serious, and I'm afraid of getting it. Seeing some children already suffering from it makes me very worried. Could you please tell me how to prevent hand, foot, and mouth disease better?

Doctor's answer:

Hello. Hand, foot, and mouth disease is primarily characterized by fever and rashes or blisters on the skin of the hands, feet, mouth, buttocks, and other areas. Some patients may initially experience mild upper respiratory symptoms, such as coughing, runny nose, nausea, and dry vomiting. More than half of the patients develop fever 1 to 2 days before the onset of the disease or at the same time, usually around 38°C. Oral mucosal rashes appear relatively early, starting as small, grain-like papules or vesicles with a red rim, primarily located on the tongue and both cheeks, and often recurring on the sides of the lips and teeth. Not all rashes may appear on the same patient. Prevention requires good personal hygiene, frequent handwashing; 2. Do not drink raw water, drink more boiled water; avoid raw and cold foods.
