Features: Entering the 21st century, the Ministry of Education issued a new curriculum standard for compulsory education. The publication of experimental textbooks for compulsory education curriculum under the guidance of this new curriculum standard is an important sign of the deepening of China's educational reform. According to the planning and arrangements of the Ministry of Education, the experimental textbooks for the curriculum standards of compulsory education have been published. The new textbooks give a fresh impression, adhering to the requirements of the new era and the concept of quality-oriented education, striving to embody a new vision of curriculum, textbooks, teaching, and learning. With the focus on cultivating students' innovative spirit and practical abilities, and with the goal of improving students' comprehensive qualities, their use is bound to be warmly welcomed by teachers and students. How to deeply understand the new curriculum standards and how to improve students' qualities, especially their ability to explore independently, have become pressing new issues. The writing of this series of books is a new attempt in this regard. Based on a thorough exploration and study of the new curriculum standards, we have compiled the experience of recent years in research and exploratory learning, combined with the content of the new textbooks, to concretize the basic concepts and objectives of the new curriculum standards. This is beneficial not only for students to learn the new textbooks but also for them to improve their own qualities and abilities. The writing of this series of books strives to highlight the following characteristics:
First, the modernity and openness of the content. Modern society is an open society, but many previous textbooks and supplementary materials were outdated and monotonous, no longer suitable for current conditions and students' needs. Therefore, in the writing of this series, we have incorporated many fresh elements, fully considering students' existing experiences, interests, and needs, and widely utilizing multimedia and other information resources. This makes the content of the books novel and vivid, effectively stimulating students' interest in learning.
Second, emphasizing autonomy and exploration. The new curriculum standards place great emphasis on cultivating students' exploration skills, and the new textbooks also focus on the selection and updating of basic knowledge and skills. On this basis, they pay more attention to improving students' comprehensive qualities and innovative and practical abilities. Therefore, this series of books includes both training in autonomy to help students build a solid foundation and cultivate the awareness of independent learning, as well as the development of exploration skills. Through life-related content and diverse presentation methods, students can acquire new knowledge and experiences in their exploration, thus comprehensively improving their qualities and abilities.
Third, focusing on the integration of different subjects, providing more background materials, and emphasizing the connections between knowledge in various subjects. In the process of transfer and expansion, we strive to integrate knowledge points into an organic whole.
