Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in the National Spirit Civilization Construction."
Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "putting people first and establishing the school with virtue." It has developed a distinctive approach to education that combines "comprehensiveness and specialization" and has pioneered a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, refinement, novelty, and innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural outcome of its long-term implementation of quality-oriented education, and it is merely one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the (command) of college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully grasp the intentions of test-setters and deeply understand their underlying principles, positioning itself as a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and monotonous exercises but requires them to complete necessary problems. We encourage students to tackle flexible and diverse problems with broad applications, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the problem-solving process.
If there is anything else that Huanggang High School has achieved success in, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, many of whom have earned a reputation as renowned educators in Hubei Province. These teachers possess deep scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and outstanding teaching results.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School's teachers and share their teaching achievements, we have organized a team of frontline core teachers from the school to meticulously plan and compile three series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Materials."
The "Huanggang High School Homework Books" series is based on the "Teaching Syllabus" and "Exam Syllabus," highlighting the role of "homework" in the process of students developing learning abilities, problem-solving skills, and exam-taking abilities. It reflects the inevitable connection between Huanggang High School students' brilliant performance in various exams and their rigorous daily practice.
This series features a carefully designed format, including four major sections: "Pre-Class Warm-up," "In-Class Homework," "After-Class Homework," and "Middle (Senior) High School Exam Online," which provide intensive training to improve students' abilities. The series also has the following features:
1. Appropriate Exercise Placement: The exercises are arranged to reinforce and progressively enhance the key points, types of questions, and methods associated with each topic. The series aims to elevate students' problem-solving skills through progressive, ability-based, open-ended, applied, and comprehensive exercises.
2. Moderate Difficulty Gradient: The ratio of basic, intermediate, and difficult questions in this series is 6:3:1, making it suitable for the use of most middle schools. Additionally, most questions are labeled with difficulty levels (A, B, or C) in advance, ensuring clarity and appropriateness.
3. Detailed Solution Hints: The answers at the back of the book are well-balanced, with more detailed solutions provided for difficult questions. It is particularly worth mentioning that the insightful hints included often play a pivotal role in guiding students toward the correct solution.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the exercises created by the authors, with rigorous review and proofreading processes to ensure excellence. Our goal is to make it a standout in the educational supplement market.
