Features: High-stakes exam question compilations or high-stakes exam question collections combined with mock exam questions have been quite common in the book market. However, the concept of this series is entirely new: we not only demand lively content, novel formats, high-end positioning, and refined taste, but we also place greater emphasis on applicability and ease of use, ensuring that teachers find it effortless to teach with and students gain significant benefits from it. To this end, we strive to achieve the following points in the writing process:
1. Meticulously planned high-stakes exam review
The taboo is: repeatedly practicing problems you already know and consistently struggling with problems you don’t. To prevent students from wasting time on excessive, repetitive, and useless practice, the selection of problems in this book is meticulously curated. Not only do the questions originate from high-stakes exam questions and mock exam questions from renowned schools, which are the culmination of the efforts and wisdom of numerous question-setting experts, but they are also carefully chosen by teachers who have dedicated years to high-stakes exams and possess deep insights into them. Our principle is: to have students solve a small number of problems while mastering typical problem-solving methods.
2. Applicability and ease of use
For high-stakes exam questions and the vast array of mock exam questions, we only select problems with high relevance. This ensures targeting fundamental knowledge, skills, and methods, while also focusing on improving abilities. To facilitate use by teachers and students, we label the difficulty level of each question: A for basic problems, B for intermediate-level problems, and C for difficult problems. The arrangement system is as follows: for science subjects, it is closely linked to teaching schedules, with problems selected by lesson; for humanities, it is paired with units.
3. Scientific categorization
The results of high-stakes exams not only determine who will attend university but also influence whether they will enter a top-tier or a general university. Therefore, the questions must be tiered, and the scores must be differentiated. So, what determines the differentiation in scores? Practice has shown that the performance on intermediate-level questions is the most critical factor. Thus, in addition to reorganizing the questions according to the new Exam Specifications in terms of content and sequence, we also give an overall consideration to the same content, including the order and difficulty level, ensuring that the proportion of basic, intermediate, and difficult questions in the entire book remains at 2:6:2.
