Patient's question:
[Condition Description: I only changed the dressing twice in 4 days after the circumcision surgery. The doctor said there was no need to change it anymore and told him to let it heal on its own, just taking anti-inflammatory medication would be enough. I asked him if he should use potassium permanganate to soak it, but he said it wasn't necessary. I see many people say to use potassium permanganate to soak it, so is it okay to let it heal on its own without soaking?History of Previous Treatment and Effects: The doctor said the recovery is going well.
What kind of help do you expect: Tell me what I should do.]
Doctor's answer:
Hello, after the circumcision surgery, do not eat spicy or greasy foods. Postoperatively, you should stay in the hospital for two to three days to receive anti-inflammatory and edema-reducing fluids. It is important to be aware of urinary tract infections and take medication regularly for anti-inflammation, pain relief, and blood circulation promotion. You should rest in bed for five to six days postoperatively. Avoid erections, and if one occurs, urinate immediately. If you cannot urinate, pretending to do so is also effective. Do not let the (gauze) get wet with urine; if it does, change it immediately. Generally, wound dressing changes are done three days after surgery to check the healing condition of the incision. Usually, one to two dressing changes are sufficient. Within a week, you will mostly recover and no longer feel pain. After that, it will be the healing phase.
