Features: The Indonesian people have always attached great importance to the development of their national language and have continuously absorbed and created new vocabulary to enrich it. As a result, in Indonesian (commonly referred to as "Bahasa Indonesia"), abbreviations and loanwords are not only numerous but also widely sourced. To address the challenges faced by Indonesian language professionals when reading and translating foreign materials, we referred to relevant publications both domestically and internationally, organized and compiled this dictionary based on materials collected from Indonesian newspapers and magazines. The dictionary primarily includes abbreviations and loanwords related to Indonesian politics, economy, diplomacy, military, science, culture, and other international organizations, as well as some geographical names. For the purpose of reading historical materials, some earlier entries have also been included. In the abbreviations section, in addition to Indonesian abbreviations, some frequently used abbreviations from Western languages such as English, Dutch, and French are also included. Some abbreviations are presented in other languages, with a total of approximately 20,000 entries. This dictionary adopts the "New Spelling of Indonesian," and in the compilation process, we strive for accuracy in translation and provide the full form and translation for each abbreviation. In the loanwords section, the foreign loanwords included are primarily from European languages such as Dutch and English, with some from Sanskrit, Arabic, and Chinese, totaling over 10,000 entries. The compilation and publication of this dictionary were greatly supported and funded by the PLA University of Foreign Languages and Comrade Wang Jingyu. During the compilation, assistance was also provided by relevant organizations, which supplied us with valuable materials.
