Features: From the external environment of educational development, the profit-driven transition from a planned economy system to a market economy system has led to the neglect of the social value of humanities in a results-oriented era, allowing the trend of devaluing humanities to resurface. As a result, scholars have proposed "reconstructing the intrinsic value of humanities." From the internal dynamics of educational development, the massification of higher education has made vocational colleges and polytechnic schools, oriented toward employment and service, a significant part of higher education. The practicality, professionalism, and technicality of talent demands have been emphasized. In terms of college Chinese teaching, the humanistic and instrumental aspects have become particularly prominent, and cultivating "social individuals, cultural beings, and economic agents" has naturally become the goal of college Chinese education. Based on these considerations, we have named this newly compiled textbook Literary Appreciation and Applied Writing.
The book is divided into two parts. The first part emphasizes the rich traditional knowledge, humanistic connotations, and humanistic care in Chinese language, organized into five thematic sections, each featuring 10 selected classic traditional works. It aims to immerse readers in the cultural treasures of ancient and modern times, fostering the elevation of their intellectual horizons and the shaping of well-rounded personalities. The second part focuses on practical writing training for various types of texts, divided into five chapters that cover administrative documents, routine documents, specialized documents, and public relations documents in both applied and financial writing. It not only defines and analyzes official document formats but also emphasizes writing techniques, with the goal of improving college students' practical writing skills. This textbook can be used as a teaching material or reference for vocational and technical colleges.
