1. This dictionary is a reference tool for middle school students and self-learners studying classical Chinese literature, as well as an important resource for middle school Chinese teachers when preparing lessons. The dictionary includes 1,124 polyphonic and polysemic characters, all selected from the new editions of the unified primary school Chinese textbooks, high school Chinese unified textbooks, and high school Chinese experimental textbooks.
2. The format of the dictionary generally follows this structure: beneath each character, the various pronunciations are first indicated using Pinyin letters, followed by definitions and example sentences for each pronunciation. The phonetic annotations and definitions are generally slightly broader and deeper than the knowledge covered in middle school classical Chinese literature, which is beneficial for students to distinguish between polyphonic and polysemic phenomena, as well as for enthusiasts of classical Chinese literature to study and further their knowledge.
3. The characters in the dictionary are arranged in phonetic order, with each character appearing only once. If a reader cannot find a character under its most common pronunciation, they should check the other common pronunciation.
4. The main body of the dictionary is preceded by an Alphabetical Index and a Stroke Index.
