Where should the god of fate be placed: An analysis of quantum mechanics

Author: (English) David Lindley
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1998-10-01
Features: It is very difficult to explain things like electron spin and proton decay to general readers who are not particularly interested in them, but this book succeeds. It is highly readable and offers excellent insights into theoretical particle physics and related disciplines—such as theoretical cosmology. Physical quantities do not possess any actual reality before they are measured, and this idea greatly damaged Einstein's view of how physics should work. It even led him to ask physicist Abraham Pais once with a hint of sadness whether he "really believed the moon only exists when you look at it." This is not an easy question to answer.
