This book is suitable as a reference for computer science, information management, and information systems majors at vocational colleges, junior colleges, and undergraduate levels for their computer professional English courses, and it also provides some help for professionals working in computer-related fields to improve their reading ability in foreign computer professional literature. This book is a supplementary textbook for "Computer English (Student Book)." The content of the student book covers a wide range of topics, with each chapter being relatively lengthy. Most of the materials are selected from original textbooks and articles from internationally renowned universities and professional journals in computer science and technology and information science and technology. It covers topics such as computer hardware, software, networks and communications, and computer applications. It is recommended that teachers adjust the content according to actual teaching requirements and students' specific situations. For example, for computer application and information management and information systems majors, it is suggested to teach all the content of Part 5. For non-computer majors, the content of Part 5 can be used as extensive reading material. The teacher's book includes grammar notes (Language Points), reference translations (Chinese Version), notes on reading materials (Notes to Reading Materials), and answers to exercise questions (Key to Exercises) (Note: The numbers [1] in the grammar notes and reading material notes correspond to the corresponding markings in the main text of the student book). For computer science and related majors, mastering the fast reading techniques of computer English is a key issue. For example, how to correct bad reading habits (word-by-word reading, excessive reliance on dictionaries, unnecessary grammatical analysis, redundant translation, silent reading, etc.), how to make full use of vision, how to guess the meaning of unfamiliar words, how to grasp the main idea of paragraphs, how to skim the entire text and look up information, etc. However, due to space limitations, this book cannot provide detailed introductions on these issues. We hope that teachers can integrate fast reading techniques into classroom teaching based on the materials in this book. This book is edited by Jiang Tongqiang. The contributing authors include Wang Wen, Kong Fanhang, Zhao Shouxiang, Yang Bing, and Luo Daihong. Lai Hua explained the grammar for each chapter, and Wang Zhenling reviewed and proofread the entire book. Due to the authors' limited expertise and the urgency of time, we sincerely welcome readers' criticism and corrections for any errors in this book.
