This dictionary includes all idioms that appear in the textbooks, as well as additional idioms outside the textbooks, totaling 700 entries. It also collects nearly 900 quotes and proverbs from famous figures around the world. The dictionary is organized by categories. It is divided into eight major categories such as "Society and Life" and "Learning and Work." Within each category, idioms are listed before quotes. No subcategories are created for major categories, but the arrangement is based on grouping related meanings into two to three subcategories during organization. Idioms are arranged in pinyin order, while quotes are organized first by Chinese, then by foreign, and then by quotes before proverbs. The textual explanations in the dictionary are designed to be simple and easy to understand. Each idiom is first annotated with its pronunciation, followed by an explanation of its literal meaning, using direct translation as much as possible to clarify its original meaning. The "Usage" section explains the extended meaning, metaphorical meaning, and the scope, context, and audience of the idiom. It also provides phonetic, semantic, and graphical clarifications for easily confused characters. Finally, it explains other variations of the idiom and its connotations of praise or criticism.
