Features: The New Palgrave Dictionary of Economics was compiled by British economist John Eatwell, who invited American economists Murray Milgate and Peter Newman to serve as his collaborators. It began in 1983 and was completed in 1986, published in September 1987. This four-volume dictionary was written by over 900 renowned scholars from 34 countries around the world (including 12 of the 13 living Nobel laureates in economics at the time). The four volumes contain more than 2,000 entries, most of which are presented as thematic essays, covering major issues and new developments in various fields of economics, as well as biographies of approximately 700 modern and contemporary world-famous economists. This dictionary is considered an authoritative economic encyclopedia. Since 1981, the Palgrave Dictionary of Political Economy published by the British Macmillan Publishing Company has been revised multiple times, evolving into the modern versions of the New Palgrave Dictionary of Economics, the New Palgrave Dictionary of Money and Finance, and the Palgrave World History Statistics, among other series of dictionaries. These works have stood the test of time as renowned classics for over a century.
