Features: Since many of the examples and exercises (as well as reference problems) in The Primary Reading Material for Mathematical Olympiads (4th Edition) are selected from competition problems in mathematical extracurricular activities across various regions in the past two to three years, it is necessary to compile a companion "Solutions to Exercises" for reference by readers. The authors of this "Solutions to Exercises" adhere to the following principles:
1. The solutions to the exercises in each chapter are closely aligned with the content and methods discussed in the corresponding chapter and examples in the Primary Reading Material. The fundamental knowledge is not advanced, so the authors first review the relevant content and examples in the Primary Reading Material.
2. They strive to select simple and straightforward solutions to make the material easy to read, understand, and accept for the readers.
3. They provide diverse solutions to enable readers to grasp the material from different perspectives.
4. The solutions are appropriately detailed, allowing readers to follow them smoothly without feeling overly cumbersome.
Finally, the authors would like to remind readers of one thing: Due to space constraints, they cannot, like the examples in the "Primary Reading Material," include explanations of "where to start thinking or analyzing" and "why a particular solution is chosen" before providing the detailed solutions to each exercise. Therefore, it is recommended that readers first review the relevant examples in the 4th edition of the "Primary Reading Material" before reading this "Solutions" book to better understand the solutions and their origins.
