Features: The subject Olympiad for primary and secondary schools (abbreviated as "subject Olympiad") is a competition activity for primary and secondary school students in China that covers the widest range, has the largest number of participants, and has the greatest influence. The subject Olympiad draws inspiration from and extends the concept of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other influential subject competitions for secondary school students worldwide, which attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the Olympiad's strong innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness, and emphasis on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness, which are precisely the core content of quality education. This is also the need for future development. Based on years of careful research on this activity both domestically and internationally, as well as a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of the Subject Olympiad for Primary and Secondary Schools has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to write and publish a series of Olympiad books titled "Gold Medal Olympiad" and "Gold Medal School," totaling more than 200 varieties in seven subjects: mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information science. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are arguably the most influential in the industry both domestically and internationally, and are the most appealing to primary and secondary school teachers and students. The writing purpose and characteristics of the "Gold Medal Olympiad" and "Gold Medal School" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from the curriculum but exceeding it. Derived from the curriculum means it is written in accordance with the new [curriculum standards] of the Ministry of Education; exceeding the curriculum means it is closely aligned with the competition syllabi of various levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and skill requirements, thereby cultivating interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing abilities.
2. Accurate: Scientifically precise and well-structured. Each book is designed according to the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a progressive principle, providing in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive, detailed problem-solving methods.
3. Innovative: The questions are novel, unique, and engaging. They collect the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both domestically and internationally, representing the highest level of current Olympiad standards and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Selective: Carefully chosen examples are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and achievable. The focus is on generalization and cross-application; multiple solutions, variations, and extensions of single problems are emphasized. It emphasizes training thinking skills rather than rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
5. Renowned: Gathered by famous teachers and collected from famous competitions. The Editorial Department of the Subject Olympiad for Primary and Secondary Schools has invited renowned professors from prestigious universities, special-grade teachers, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympiad gold medal coaches to co-author these books.
