Features: The subject Olympiad for primary and secondary schools (referred to as the subject Olympiad) is one of the most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competitions for primary and secondary school students in China. The subject Olympiad draws inspiration and extends from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential subject competitions for secondary school students, which are eagerly anticipated and followed by millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the Olympiad's strong innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness, and emphasis on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness, which are precisely the core elements of quality education. This is also the need for future development. Based on a meticulous study of this activity both domestically and internationally over the years, as well as a vast number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Board of the Subject Olympiad for Primary and Secondary Schools has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to sequentially compile and publish a series of Olympiad reading materials titled "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School," covering seven subjects—mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information—with over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, we are considered the most influential in both domestic and international peers and hold the greatest charm in the hearts of primary and secondary school teachers and students. The compilation purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from the curriculum but exceeding it. Derived from the curriculum means referencing the new [curriculum standards] issued by the Ministry of Education; exceeding the curriculum means closely aligning with the competition guidelines of various levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and ability requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing skills.
2. Accurate: Scientifically precise and structurally rational. Each volume is designed according to the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a progressive principle, offering in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive, detailed problem-solving methods.
3. Innovative: The selected question types are novel, unique, and highly engaging. They gather the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both domestically and internationally, representing the highest level of current Olympiad standards and reflecting the new concepts of curriculum reform, as well as the new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Refined: Carefully selected examples are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and attainable. The focus is on learning from one example to understand many, and on solving one problem in multiple ways, transforming it into various forms and asking multiple questions about it. Emphasis is placed on training thinking skills rather than drowning students in repetitive drills, making learning an interest and hobby.
5. Renowned: A gathering of distinguished teachers and a collection of famous competitions. The Editorial Board of the Subject Olympiad for Primary and Secondary Schools has invited renowned professors from prestigious universities, distinguished teachers from key secondary schools, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympiad gold medal coaches to jointly compile these materials.
