Features: The modernization of Chinese language requires standardized characters. To implement the national regulations on character forms, this table has been comprehensively revised based on the 1983 edition, reorganized, and the font size enlarged, providing readers with a reference for simplified characters, traditional characters, variant characters, and archaic characters. The table primarily includes the four batches of simplified characters announced by the State Council in 1956 in the "Scheme for the Simplification of Chinese Characters" and the "List for the Rectification of Variant Characters" released by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese Commission on Chinese Language Reform in 1955. Adjustments have been made according to the "Common Characters List of Modern Chinese" issued by the State Language Commission and the Press and Publication Administration of the People's Republic of China in 1988. In the table, simplified characters corresponding to variant characters are included, which do not fall within the four batches of simplified characters. The traditional forms of such characters are omitted.
