Mechanical Design Drafting: Suitable for Near-Mechanical and Non-Mechanical Majors (Third Edition)

Author: Yin Changzhi, Editor-in-Chief
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1988-10-01
Features: The second edition of this book is a research achievement of the Ministry of Education's "Reform Plan for Teaching Content and Curriculum Systems in Higher Education Towards the 21st Century," serving as a curriculum textbook for the 21st century. In 2002, it was awarded the Second Prize of the National Excellent Textbook for Ordinary Higher Education. The third edition is a research outcome of the Ministry of Education's "New Century Higher Education Teaching Reform Engineering" project and also part of the Beijing Higher Education Excellent Textbook Construction Project. It was revised on the basis of maintaining the original book's features while incorporating the basic teaching requirements for engineering drawing courses in higher education, as formulated by the Ministry of Education's Engineering Drawing Teaching Guidance Committee in 2004 (draft for comments). The book takes mechanical design as its main thread, with the goal of cultivating design and innovative abilities. It breaks the traditional boundaries and sequence of mechanical drawing, mechanical principles, and mechanical parts courses, integrating the content in a unified manner to form a new system with distinct characteristics. The book is primarily divided into five parts: Fundamentals of Mechanical Drawing, Introduction to Mechanics and Shape Design of Parts, Design of General Components and Common Mechanisms, Simple Mechanical Design and Mechanical Innovation Design, and Preliminary Computer-Aided Design. The accompanying exercise book has also been revised. To meet the needs of multimedia teaching, a multimedia courseware package has been developed. This book can be used as a textbook for technical disciplines (near-machine and non-machine) in higher industrial colleges and is also suitable for reference by teachers and students in related disciplines in other types of schools.
