Publishing Time: Not available
Features: Building upon previous work, this book focuses on three key aspects: reconstructing the textbook framework, innovating teaching content, and emphasizing the application of theory to practice to better integrate theory with reality. It strives to align with international standards while maintaining and enhancing its unique features. The book is divided into five parts, 18 chapters, and three volumes. The first volume includes the "Equilibrium" part, covering the pVT relationships and thermal properties of substances, the laws of thermodynamics and basic thermodynamic equations, thermodynamics of multicomponent systems, fugacity and activity, and phase equilibrium, totaling five chapters. The "Rate" part includes three chapters on transport phenomena, chemical kinetics, and the kinetics of various reactions. The second volume is the "Structure" part, comprising three chapters on the fundamentals of quantum mechanics, theories of chemical bonds and intermolecular forces, and the basic principles of spectroscopy. The third volume contains the "Statistical" part, including three chapters on statistical thermodynamics of independent subsystems, statistical thermodynamics of dependent subsystems, and rate theory. The "Extended" part covers four chapters on interfacial phenomena, electrolyte solutions, electrochemistry, and colloids. This book can serve as a textbook for chemistry, chemical engineering, and related disciplines in higher education institutions, as well as a reference for researchers and engineers in relevant fields.
Preface: With the turn of the century, China has achieved rejuvenation, the nation has soared, and all industries are striving forward. The Ministry of Education is implementing the "Reform Plan for Teaching Content and Curriculum Systems in Higher Education Toward the 21st Century." To support this initiative, the Physical Chemistry Teaching and Research Office of East China University of Science and Technology organized the compilation of the fourth edition of Physical Chemistry.
