The Listening Comprehension volume includes 25 test questions. The first 15 questions systematically assess the functional and notional items that junior high students should master. The 16th to 25th questions simulate the middle school entrance exam listening comprehension test. The Basic Training volume provides systematic and concise explanations of vocabulary and grammar for junior high students, along with exercises targeting the frequently tested, easily confused, and difficult points in the exam, helping learners grasp them effortlessly. The Cloze Tests consist of 30 units, with 5 cloze tests per unit, totaling 150 passages. They are categorized as follows:
- A and B units are multiple-choice (4 options), each with 15 blanks.
- C unit is also multiple-choice (4 options), with 10 blanks.
- D unit is word-fill (selecting the appropriate form of the given words), with slightly more words provided than needed.
- E unit is fill-in-the-blank based on context and given initials.
Based on the new English curriculum standards and the development trend of middle school entrance exam question types, the Cloze Tests are divided into three types: multiple-choice, word-fill, and fill-in-the-blank with initials. The materials are categorized into three parts: stories, science and technology, cultural and educational, and others. There are 16 story units, 6 units each for science and technology, cultural and educational, and others, plus 2 simulation test units. Answers and explanations are provided at the end of the book. The Reading Comprehension volume selects 200 passages of various genres, including stories, news, charts, science and technology, and applied texts, with multiple-choice questions and open-ended questions designed to assess comprehension levels. The Comprehensive Training volume selects key points per unit, following the Outline in terms of difficulty, reflecting the comprehensive and flexible nature of language testing.
