The editor of this dictionary conceived the idea of compiling such a work and began extensive research and collection in 1994, gathering English terms from gemological and jewelry design literature and various commercial information of the 1990s. From this, over 10,000 carefully selected terms were compiled into this dictionary. The editor sincerely hopes that this dictionary will help those in the jewelry industry with a basic English foundation to read English professional literature, understand international trends, and master commercial information. The first volume of this dictionary primarily translates English into Chinese, provides brief explanations for some terms, and offers Chinese-English comparisons for over 6,000 key vocabulary entries, facilitating easy reference and consultation for readers.
