Features: The Song Dynasty is a historically significant era. Due to China's tradition of revering the ancient, there is often an idealized and admiring portrayal of antiquity. Politicians and historians frequently praise the governance of the Three Dynasties, advocating for political reforms or artistic innovations under the banner of "reversion to antiquity." Perhaps because of repeated failures and setbacks in foreign invasions in modern times, there has been a reflection on history. While thinkers opened their eyes to the world, they were also influenced by Western evolutionary historiography, and the habit of "looking backward" began to change. When observing ancient history, attention was paid to the turning points in historical evolution rather than blindly admiring the past. Consequently, the role of the Song Dynasty in the evolution of Chinese history was given due recognition.
