Features: In recent years, the popularity of art college entrance exams has been on the rise. It is reported that over a million candidates participated in the national art exams in 2006. At the same time, a large number of art exam preparation books have been published. When planning to publish such books, Suzhou University Press took a unique approach by collaborating with the Art Education Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Educational Association and the "Jiangsu Art Education Network" to organize the "First National Online Demonstration Painting Competition for Art College Entrance Exams." Leveraging the online platform, the competition focused on widely collecting demonstration paintings from art exam preparation teachers across the country. The competition quickly garnered enthusiastic responses from frontline preparation teachers. In just over two months, over a thousand works participated, spanning the entire country. The scale and impact of the competition were truly remarkable. After initial online evaluations and final evaluations of the submitted original works, winning entries were selected, and over 200 outstanding works were chosen for inclusion in the book "Art College Entrance Exam Expressway."
This book is divided into three volumes: the Basic Skills Volume, the Figure Drawing Volume, and the Color Volume. The Basic Skills Volume includes basic sketching and quick sketches, while the Figure Drawing Volume covers portraits and half-body portraits. Each volume features step-by-step illustrations drawn by experienced preparation teachers. The works selected for this book are diverse in style and wide-ranging in subject matter, but more importantly, they are closely aligned with the college entrance exams, making them highly targeted and practical.
