Publish Date: 2006-08-01
Features: This book is a new work by the author following his 2001 publication with our press, "Getting Closer to Calligraphers and Painters." It collects (: documentary essays) written by the author after visiting 65 renowned Chinese calligraphers and painters in recent years, along with their artworks. From this, readers can not only gain insights into the personalities, character, hobbies, and artistic achievements of these painters through the author's perspective but also appreciate their representative works. Additionally, the book includes the author's critiques of the works of masters such as Tang Yun, Zhu Qizhan, and Wu Qingxia, as well as essays and interviews on Chinese calligraphy and painting. The author has long shared a deep connection with calligraphers and painters, and their wisdom and amiable nature often inspire my passion for art and admiration for my mentors and friends. Unfortunately, some of the respected elders I admire have passed away, and the recorded words become my eternal memories of them. The book is divided into three main parts: "Calligraphy and Painting Bonds," "Thoughts on the Art World," and "Insights on Appreciating Paintings," including chapters such as "Family Harmony," "Rainbow Over Hometown," "Wishes," "Splendor Returns to Truth," and "The Eternal Seeker."
