Features: This book is a research monograph supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In addition to the introduction briefly outlining the origin, fundamental concepts, development, and historical and current applications of impinging jets, the book is divided into two parts: "Gas-Continuous Impinging Jets" and "Liquid-Continuous Impinging Jets." Most of the content is based on the author's research achievements, introducing the fundamental principles, properties closely related to applications, and progress in development and major achievements in their application.
The principles and properties of gas-continuous impinging jets include the flow of the continuous phase, particle behavior, particle residence time and distribution, fluid resistance of impinging jet devices, and the influence of fluid impact on liquid dispersion. In terms of application development, it primarily involves unit processes such as drying, absorption, impinging jet combustion of pulverized coal and liquid fuels, and grinding of solid materials.
The "Liquid-Continuous Impinging Jets" section first discusses how the significant differences in liquid aggregation state and properties compared to gases result in completely distinct properties from gas-continuous impinging jets. It introduces the excellent characteristics of liquid-continuous impinging jets in effectively promoting micro-mixing and exhibiting strong pressure fluctuations, as well as their impact on kinetic processes. The experimental research results on the use of liquid-continuous impinging jet devices for the reaction-precipitation method to produce ultrafine silica, nano-copper powder, and nano-titanium dioxide are presented. Additionally, several newly developed application-based liquid-continuous impinging jet technologies and equipment are introduced.
This book is suitable for use by science and technology workers in universities, research, design, and chemical engineering enterprises in the fields of chemical engineering and technology, as well as doctoral and master's students.
