Features: They are sitting in the "Scenery Hall" on the second floor of a spacious old house on Meng Street. This house was recently purchased by the John Buddenbrook Company, and they have only recently moved in. The walls of the room are hung with heavy, springy tapestries, with appropriate gaps between the tapestries and the walls. The tapestries depict large landscapes, painted in soft colors to harmonize with the thin carpet on the floor. These pastoral scenes are in the style of the 18th century: joyful grape pickers, hardworking farmers, shepherdesses with colorful headscarves, and so on. Some of these shepherdesses are sitting by clear streams, holding fluffy white lambs in their arms, while others are kissing handsome shepherd boys.
