Features: This book is a panoramic long-form documentary literary work that reflects the current state of forestry ecology and ecological construction in China to date. This nearly 600,000-word ecological documentary work was produced as a result of the 2003 National People's Congress "China Environmental Protection Century Action" and the 2004 National Forestry Administration "100 Literary Artists Go to the Grassroots." The author wrote this documentary work focused on the national forestry ecological status. Over the course of writing, they visited and investigated the grassroots forestry in nine provinces and regions. From the north, starting with the Daxing'anling Mountains, Mohe, Beicun, and the Aolai Forest District in Inner Mongolia, to the south, including Qiandao Lake, Tianmushan, the source of the Nujiang River, Xishuangbanna, and the Thai-Myanmar border, and westward connecting to South Xinjiang, North Xinjiang, the Tianshan Mountains, and Kashgar, involving Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Shanxi, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guangxi, covering tens of thousands of kilometers. It not only documents the "dual crisis" of the original forests in China's forestry regions no longer existing but also portrays, after the ban on logging, how the green warriors of China, concerned about the world's problems before others, vigorously carried out the "Six Major Projects." In some areas, they even proactively reduced the main logging task every year, striving to achieve the goal of "not cutting a single tree" while also pursuing "sustainable development." Struggling with persistent itching but unable to find a good remedy, there is still one thing worth mentioning with relief: in early 2005, the Ministry of Agriculture held an international conference on energy conservation. Over a dozen experts and scholars from more than ten countries participated in the conference. The conference reached a consensus on the future development of energy-saving stoves and renewable energy. The energy-saving stove mentioned in this book, which was commended by Premier Wen Jiabao and discovered by the China Environmental Protection Century Action as a "remedy" for curing the diseases of energy waste and environmental pollution, had an outstanding and impressive display at this conference. Human development, social progress, the right timing, geographical advantages, and harmony among people are all indispensable.
