Features: There are three insights about Lu Xun:
Worldview: Lu Xun's perspective on things is sharp, both biting and full of philosophical depth. The scholar in him possesses a sense of justice, while his understanding of the world of opportunists gives him a warm side alongside a stern tone. Because of his sense of justice, he confronts the darkness of society without compromise; yet because he is familiar with the world of cunning people, he often exposes the true nature of politicians, celebrities, and the ignorant, making it extremely difficult for them to escape his scrutiny.
Human Nature: Lu Xun's observations on people are masterful. He sketches their joys and sorrows, virtues and vices, making them vividly come to life. The hearts of the masses have long been corrupted, and his desire to save them from oblivion is genuine. In his eyes, the thinking of Chinese people appears somewhat pathological—such as forgetfulness, confusion, ambiguity, and delusion. They neither face reality nor reflect on themselves. Day by day, they descend into degradation while becoming increasingly self-satisfied, yet they remain slaves without realizing it. Those who care about appearances love to speak grandly. Those who play the game are willing to speak in vain. They show off when facing the weak but act subserviently in the presence of the powerful.
Self-Perception: Lu Xun often mocks himself, without any trace of vanity. When he recalls the past, he carries a hint of sorrow, with a tone of melancholy and indignation. Knowing his own limitations, he accepts life with tranquility. He neither seeks perfection nor gives up on himself, which is why he walks through the desert, leaving an impression of courage and resilience.
