Features: The 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China adopted the "Proposal of the CPC Central Committee on Formulating the 11th Five-Year Plan," which identified accelerating the transformation of the economic growth model as one of the six major tasks for the 11th Five-Year Plan period. It clearly stated that conserving resources is a fundamental policy, and it is necessary to accelerate the construction of a resource-conserving and environment-friendly society, promote coordinated development between economic growth and population, resources, and the environment, firmly implement the new path of industrialization, adhere to conserving development, clean development, and safe development, and achieve sustainable development. This is a major strategic decision made by the Central Committee after a profound analysis of the outstanding issues in China's economic and social development over the past two decades since the reform and opening-up. It serves as the fundamental concept guiding the future development direction. In recent years, although China has achieved great success in its economic and social development, it has come at the cost of consuming vast amounts of resources and energy, causing significant environmental pollution. The various stage characteristics exhibited by developed countries over the course of several hundred years of industrialization have been concentratedly reflected in China's development process over these two decades, akin to compressed biscuits. The traditional intensive economic growth model has reached its end and is no longer capable of supporting the grand goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. These national-level issues also exist in Anhui, and in some aspects, they are even more prominent. This book is a collection of papers from the "Ecological Anhui" forum. During the conference, nearly a hundred papers were collected, but due to space limitations, only more than 70 papers related to the theme were published.
