Fading ship

Features: The works collected in this volume were written in the past. The time span is about 20 years. During the selection process, the author once heard the sound of the oars of his lifeboat again. Although the latest few were written in September 2002 and included in the collection before being published, they became part of the past the moment they were completed. A careful reader will notice that the early works are more emotionally charged and belong to the category of lyrical essays. The later works are more like essays, with some even having a touch of satirical writing. The book is divided into four parts based on content.
Part one consists of essays on daily life and ordinary people's small matters, where wisdom is revealed through emotion. As mentioned in the preface, the author strives to balance emotional and intellectual content in his essays. The second part has a strong lyrical tone, with heartfelt reflections shared in a gentle and sincere manner. It also includes travel writings and book notes, each offering insights from observing mountains, waters, and reading. As the saying goes, "A man's writing reflects his character," and essays are particularly true to this. This is a work by a person of character, for a person of character. Reading it feels like a close conversation with an old friend—honest and warm.
